About Dr Jo

Dr Joanne Edwards MBBS FRACP MPsychiatry MPH is a Canberra-based general paediatrician who specialises in neurodiversity and mental health issues affecting children and young people.

Dr Edwards completed her medical training at the University of Queensland before training in general paediatrics at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane and undertook a fellowship in Community Child Health at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.

Since completing her fellowship, she has completed a Masters in Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne and a Masters in Public Health at UNSW.

She continues to study and is completing a Masters of Youth Mental Health which is run by Orygen/University of Melbourne. She is also a participant in the RANZCP Certificate of Postgraduate Training in Psychiatry.

Dr Edwards enjoys working with families to achieve holistic solutions for complex issues related to mental health and neurodiversity. She works within an attachment framework and focusing on early intervention and well-being
